The mission of the Cardiology Technologists Association of British Columbia (CTABC) is to provide current and ongoing continuing education for members and students, and to act as a liaison between Cardiology Technologists and our national governing body, the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT).
Through the CSCT, the CTABC is affiliated with the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS). The CTABC is a non-profit organization established to raise the standard of practice, level of competence and the quality of patient care provided by Cardiology Technologists in British Columbia. A self-governing body, the CTABC admits members to the association and encourages all members to maintain professional standards by participating in a mandatory Continuing Education Credit (CEU) system. To date we have over 400 Registered Members throughout the Province of BC.
Registered members may be employed in the field of Cardiology by assisting and performing duties in:
- Exercise Tolerance Testing
- Ambulatory Monitoring
- Pacemaker Technology
- Cardiac Ultrasound
- Invasive Cardiac Procedures
