CTABC President

The President shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Society.  He/she shall preside at all meetings of the Society and of the Board of Directors.

Board of Directors meeting 

  • Must be a member in good standing with CSCT.
  • Communicate meeting time, dates and location to Board members
  • Prepare and distribute agenda for meetings
  • Correspond with CSCT Executive, Provincial Directors, PEC`s and all Committees as needed
  • Respond to any correspondence
  • The president has a vote and is also the tiebreaker vote in case of a tie. 

AGM Duties/ CCC duties

  • Chair the AGM or any Special meetings. 
  • Prepare & send the Agenda, Notice of meeting and Proxy vote package as specified by the bylaws
  • Represent CSCT at the Opening Ceremonies of the Cardiovascular Congress
  • Present a report of CSCT yearly activities at the AGM

General Duties

  • Member of the CSCT executive
  • Communicate with the CSCT Medical Advisory Committee as needed
  • Communicate with Post-secondary Cardiology programs as needed
  • Review all approved and non-approved expenditures for CSCT expenses with  the CSCT Treasurer
  • Oversee any disciplinary action as needed
  • Correspond with legal counsel as needed
  • Prepare president’s letters to be included with membership cards.
  • Submit president’s report for the Atrium
  • Update the CSCT memory stick of any contracts, documents etc. for passing on to next President
  • Sign all By-Laws and any other documents requiring the signature of an Officer of the Society.
  • Member of the CSCT Strategic Planning Committee

 

 

CTABC Vice President

Board of Directors meetings:

  • Must be a member in good standing with CSCT. 
  • Attends all Board of Directors Meetings                          
  • Assumes the duties of the President in their absence or inability to act
  • Annual General Meeting/Special Meetings:
  • Assumes the duties of the President in their absence or inability to act
  • Presents a VP report as needed

General Duties:

  • Assumes the duties of the President in their absence or inability to act
  • Member of the CSCT executive
  • Member of the CSCT Policy committee     
  • Member of the CSCT Bylaws committee
  • Member of the CSCT Strategic Planning Committee
  • Assumes the role of CSCT president at the end of the CSCT president’s 2 year term
  • Attends the Medical Advisory Committee meeting in ODD years 
  • Performs duties as assigned by the CSCT Board of Directors

 

CTABC Registrar

Appointed at a post-AGM meeting for a term of two (2) years on odd numbered years.

Board of Directors Meetings:

  • Attend the Board of Director Meetings in June and October
  • Submit a written report of current members to Board of Directors meetings

Annual General Meeting:

  • Provide a list of CSCT members in good standing for the registration purposes
  • Provide a list of members registered for CCC
  • Process Proxies as per proxy procedure
  • Present Quorum Report
  • Redistribute proxy votes as needed
  • Present a report at the AGM
  • Membership Registry:
  • Maintain a registry of all members
  • Provide provincial registrars with CSCT registration numbers for new members
  • Coordinate per capita dues with CSCT Treasurer prior to sending yearly membership cards

General duties:

  • Prepare and mail CSCT membership cards
  • Prepare and mail CSCT Certificates
  • Provide the CCC contact with a current list of CSCT members
  • Respond to emails directed to the CSCT Registrar and forward those onto provinces if email content is a provincial matter or distribute accordingly
  • Submit a report for the Atrium newsletter

 

CTABC Treasurer

Is a Director and is elected for a two year term at the Annual General Meeting on even numbered years and shall have a voice.

Board of Directors Meetings:

  • Attend all Board of Directors Meetings
  • Submit a written financial report to the Board of Directors at all Board meetings
  • Will submit all approved and all non-preapproved expenditures to the CSCT President for approval and payment. 
  • Submit the draft audited financial statements to the Board of Directors at the June Board meeting each year
  • Submit the CSCT Congress financial statements to the Board of Directors at the February Board meeting

Annual General Meeting

  • Present audited financial statements
  • Present a proposed budget

Banking Duties:

  • Verify and keep a record of received cheques and deposit cheques to the CSCT bank account in a timely fashion

End of Fiscal Year (April 30th)

  • Submit to the CSCT appointed accounting firm, all original paperwork and receipts as well as the monthly ledgers for compilation of an unaudited financial statement of income, expenses and surplus
  • Submit to the CSCT appointed accounting firm all minutes taken from the CSCT Board of Directors meetings
  • Prepare a comprehensive budget for the current fiscal year to be presented to the Board of Directors prior to the AGM.

General Duties

  • Member of the CSCT Executive
  • Verify invoices and pay approved invoices and expenditures
  • Maintain a ledger of every transaction of all credits and debits
  • Maintain all accounts and investments.  All investments are made with the Board of Directors approval
  • Issue and distribute payment cheques to be co-signed by the CSCT President
  • Member of the strategic planning committee

 

 

CTABC Provincial Director

Directors are nominated by their Province and vote on at the AGM.  This is a 2 year term.

CSCT Board of Directors meetings:

  • Attend all CSCT Board meetings, or send a substitute with written notice to the CSCT President 2 weeks prior to meeting.
  • Submit a written/email report of Provincial activities for all CSCT meetings.
  • To be included are the Provincial membership numbers and exam candidate numbers (use Dec 31 for Feb meeting, April 30 for June meeting and Sept 30 for Oct meeting).
  • These reports are to be distributed one week prior to meeting via email to BOD and CSCT Registrar.
  • Have read all reports prior to the Board of Director’s Meetings
  • Submit a list of all Provincial Board members after Provincial AGM meetings
  • Abide by the CSCT Policy Manual
  • Provide minute corrections to the Secretary within 2 weeks of receiving the draft version.

CSCT AGM Duties:

  • Will submit and read a written report of the Provincial activities
  • To include provincial membership numbers (highlighting successful exam candidates).

General Duties:

  • Submit a report to Provincial meetings after CSCT meetings
  • Communicate with Provincial Education Coordinator
  • Assist and volunteer for committees with CSCT

 

CTABC Education Director
  • Be a member in good standing.
  • A member of the CSCT education committee
  • Act as a liaison between your provincial body and the CSCT Education Committee.
  • Represent their province and the best interests of the profession.
  • Communicate pertinent educational information and updates to the student provincial membership.
  • Process CSCT exam applications as per CSCT and Provincial guidelines.
  • Coordinator CSCT examination as per CSCT Policy.
  • Coordinate workshops &/or seminars are required.
  • Serve on the CSCT Education Committee, sub committees and assist the CSCT Education Director as required.
  • Provide cardiology case studies which can be used for teaching, preceptor’s workshops, and examinations as requested. Patient confidentiality is paramount. As per template.
  • Submit written reports at both Provincial and CSCT meetings.
  • Liaison to college programs & college instructors where requested.

 

CTABC CEU Coordinator

Shall be elected at an AGM for a term of two (2) years on even numbered years.

Board of Directors meetings:

  • Shall attend all Board of Directors Meetings
  • Shall submit a written report of activities
  • To be included in the newsletters (CTABC Heartcopy)

Annual General Meeting/Special Meetings:

  • Shall attend CTABC AGM & CSCT AGM
  • Shall present a written report of activities at CTABC AGM
  • Shall help coordinate the educational component for AGMs

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

  • Receives all CEU documents (CEU Log Sheets, CEU documentation) via mail, faxes/e-mails
  • Reviews and tabulates acceptable CEUs submitted
  • Enters data into CEU Excel Spreadsheet

General Duties:

  • Shall assist the Board of Directors with other assigned tasks
  • Shall be a member of CTABC Education committee
  • Shall assist with the coordination any CTABC educational workshops/AGM education sessions
  • Shall assist with CSCT certification exams
  • Shall act as a resource person to the incoming CEU Coordinator for a period of year
CTABC Communications Director

Shall be elected at an AGM for a term of two (2) years on even numbered years

Board of Directors meetings:

  • Shall attend all Board of Directors Meetings
  • Shall submit a written report of activities
  • To be included in the newsletters (CTABC Heartcopy)
  • Shall book meeting rooms for scheduled Board of Directors meetings.
  • One (1) meeting per month as agreed upon by the board, except for summer recess
  • Shall book Special Meetings as requested by Board members
  • Shall remind Board of Director members of meetings 1 week and 2 days in advance of meeting to assure a quorum.

Annual General Meeting/Special Meetings:

  • Shall attend AGM
  • Shall present a written report of activities
  • Shall where required, liaison with the AGM Committee
  • Assist with the organization of AGM &/or Special Meetings where required

CTABC Website and newsletter (Heartcopy):

  • Shall act as primary contact with the CTABC webmaster.
  • Shall collect and review Newsletter reports
  • Shall forward newsletter reports to webmaster to format and post on website

Correspondence:

  • Shall forward all e-mails, voice messages, faxes or requests from the general membership to the appropriate board member(s)
  • Shall forward all e-mails/voice messages from outside the membership to the appropriate board member(s)

General Duties:

  • Shall perform duties as assigned by the Board of Directors
  • Shall send cards, standard form letters, or notices on behalf of the Board, as directed (e.g. Sympathy, Get well, Thank you cards)
  • Shall be the Public Relations (PR) Committee Chair
  • Promoting of Cardiology Technologists’ Day in the province
  • Mailing out of professional promotional materials
  • Shall act as the coordinator and resource person for the purchase, supply and distribution of the CTABC pins.
  • Complete an order form when inventory is at 5 pins.
  • Distribute the pins as requested to CTABC members In Good Standing
  • Record the member’s name and date of the order
  • Shall be a member of the Forms committee
  • Shall act as a resource person to the incoming Communications Director  for a period of year
CTABC Recording Secretary

Board Meetings:

  • Attend all Board of Director’s meetings.
  • Record minutes from all CSCT Board meetings.
  • Send draft copies within 2 weeks to Board and anyone else who was in attendance.
  • Revise minutes based on amendments submitted and post on secured website.
  • Send email copies to all parties who attend the meeting
  • Registrar to receive copy of Feb board meeting
  • Distribute electronic package for new BOD members
  • By-Laws and Policy Manuals (By-Law 14.5)
  • Record minutes of all email meetings & motions

AGM:

  • Attend AGM
  • Read previous AGM minutes
  • Record minutes at the AGM.
  • Receives proxies prior to AGM
  • Distributes to registrar for validation

General duties:

  • Receive CSCT mail and distribute as needed
  • Keep CSCT equipment list, update as needed
  • Send hard signed copies of minutes to lawyer
  • Update and send to Webmaster a list of Directors and PECs
  • Liaison with Webmaster on behalf of CSCT

 

CTABC Director-at-Large

Shall be appointed (as required) by the CTABC Board of Directors for a term of one (1) year until the next Annual General Meeting

Board of Directors meetings:

  • Shall attend all Board of Directors Meetings
  • Shall submit a written report of activities to be included in the newsletters (CTABC Heartcopy)

Annual General Meeting/Special Meetings:

  • Shall present a written report of the CTABC’s yearly activities at the AGM

General Duties:

  • Shall perform duties as assigned by the Board of Directors
